The screen is not the only highlighted feature. The rest of the hardware and software is not below par either. There are exciting features like fingerprint scanner, new design language, voice recognition, IR port, excellent 7900 mAH battery etc.

Apart from specs, the overall design of the tablet is also outstanding. It is not too slender, not too thick; it is just the perfect width. It comes in elegant shades of silver, white and black.

Cons and disadvantages

The Android OS is still not comparable to iOS. The tablet optimized apps run far more smoothly in iPad Air then on Galaxy Tab S. Optimization of tablet apps is something Samsung and other Android manufacturers should focus on. Next, the GPU performance is not up to the mark. There is a room for lot of improvement there. Lack of NFC support is another discouraging feature. The pricing is expected to be premium across all sales channels.

Verdict

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has some flaws but they are not fatal flaws. Whether Galaxy S can dethrone iPad Air or not, we will have to wait and see – but one thing is for sure it is going to be real neck to neck.
