Yesterday Lenovo also unveiled a special version of ZUK Z1 that features a back cover made from oak wood that comes from the Appalachian Mountains in US. In order to preserve the natural look of the cover the wood has not been dyed or treated in anyway.

Apart from the wood, the device is exactly the same as the vanilla product. The ZUK Z1 comes with a 5.5-inches LCD screen with 1080×1920p resolution and 401ppi pixel density. Internally the device embraces a Snapdragon 801 chipset with a quad-core 2.5GHz CPU along with Adreno 330 GPU. The handset also packs 3GB of RAM and 64GB non-expandable internal storage.

In terms of camera, the special edition ZUK Z1 features a 13MP primary shooter with OIS i.e. optical image stabilization which ensures blur-free pictures and an 8MP front-facing shooter. The device also sports finger print scanner with lights kept on. ZUK Z1 comes with a huge 4100mAh battery backup and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Some of the other features include USB Type-C connectivity for brisk file transfers and prompt charging. The ZUK Z1 is also expected to get an Android Marshmallow 6.0 update very soon.

The special edition will cost its users at the equivalent of $283 which implies that the customers will be required to pay $15 more than the regular model. However, the classy look of the device is well worth the small increment.
