Xiaomi Mi 5 Will Be Unveiled On February 24

The Chinese electronics company Xiaomi’s much awaited smartphone, Mi 5, has now been confirmed for release on 24th of the next month. MI5 Launch

It was previously disclosed that the Mi 5 will be driven by a Snapdragon 820 processor which makes it quite obvious that the handset is going to be Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone for 2016. However, very little is known about the device till now aside from the processor details.

A few sources have revealed that Mi 5 is expected to flaunt specs that would challenge Samsung Galaxy S7. However the handset by Xiaomi will definitely be way cheaper than the South Korean giant’s upcoming smartphone flagship. Thus Xiaomi may grab a market share based on its competitive pricing strategy.

The listing for the device claims that the Mi 5 will feature 5.2 inches Quad HD display shielded by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4. In addition, it is also rumored that the handset will embrace a 16MP rear shooter along with f/2.2 aperture and 4K video recording capabilities.

The Chinese company is popular internationally for its compelling yet economical smartphones and Mi 5 will be no exception. A bigger challenge for the company this year is to decide whether or not to release the upcoming handsets in US or other Western markets.

It is worth mentioning here that Xiaomi’s biggest contender Huawei expanded excessively in 2015, entering quite a few international markets. Huawei will certainly broaden its margin of global presence over Xiaomi if the company fails to make a counter move.
