HTC One A9s Goes Official

HTC One A9 was an unconventional premium mid-ranger when it was launched back in 2015. The smartphone came with a classy metal unibody design and featured mid-range hardware specs.

The recently announced One A9s by the Taiwanese consumer Electronics Company is not an upgrade! Rather, the new variant comes with downgraded specs. The device has follows in the steps of its elder sibling with a great looking metal layout adorned with diamond-cut buttons and curved Gorilla Glass screen.

The handset features a 5-inch display unit, however, packs in a lower 720p screen resolution and a Super LCD matrix.

In addition, the chipset has also been swapped. The One A9s is powered by Helio P10 by MediaTek which comes with an octa-core A53 SoC, Mali- T860MP2 and 2GB or 3GB of RAM paired with storage choices of 16 or 32GB.

The smartphone flaunts a 13MP primary shooter, but it’s a latest sensor with a downgraded aperture and it also lacks OIS. Moreover, the selfie clicker is another change from the original One A9. The latest One A9s banks on a regular 5MP 4:3 sensor, with f/2.8 aperture and 1080p video recording instead of the 4MP UltraPixel shooter.

The device packs in fingerprint sensor and also offers a slightly bigger 2,300mAh battery backup. The smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow with the new HTC Sense Launcher, however, HTC has yet to announce its plans for the Nougat update.

As far as the pricing and availability of the device are concerned, the handset is said to make its official entry in the market this October. The price of the handset is yet to be revealed.
