How to Improve Battery Life while using 4G

Ever since the smartphones have become a norm, one of the biggest problems faced by the users is the battery life. No matter how expensive the handset is, the bigger the screen and the higher the processing power means lower the battery life. There was a time when mobiles were just used to make calls, or send an occasional text. Now, people do almost everything from their cell phone. Which leads to the draining of battery. The question is, is there a way around it? Is there a way to prolong 4G phones’ battery life?

Improve Battery life

Even though 4G phones are quite well adjusted, still this type of connectivity drains the battery rather quickly. It depends on which handset you are using, of course, but still, there is quite a visible difference when using 4G on your phone.

One of the main reason that standby time for the 4G phones is reduced is that the connection is left turned on. What happens is that 4G coverage is not that prevalent and because of that, when the phone loses the connection it continuously tries to reach out and connect to the nearest 4G network. The same issue arises with 3G, but since the 3G coverage is better than 4G, the phone doesn’t lose the connection that often.

Against all popular belief, when you play games or download music or files on a 4G phone, you will find that it takes the same amount of battery life as it would on any other phone when doing the same activities.

Improving Battery Life on a 4G Phone:

The simplest and the easiest way to save your battery life on a 4G phone is by simply turning it off when you aren’t using it.
Another thing that you can do is use your Bluetooth when it is absolutely necessary. Smartphone users rarely use it. Keeping the Bluetooth disabled will improve your battery life significantly.

When you are in dire need of prolonged battery time, one of the most effective way is to turn on the airplane mode on your handset. This allows you to end all sort of connectivity at once, which in turn enhances your battery life. This might not be ideal for some people, but it is the best way to save your battery.
If you want to keep your phone activated and still want some extended time on the battery, you can do a couple of things, firstly, whenever you are done with your phone, lock it instantly. When it locks itself it takes a few seconds to turn off the screen, when you do it yourself, the screen will turn off instantly, thus saving your battery. The other way is to dim the brightness of your screen.

Many different software and games cause the battery to drain as well. The trick is to close every app that you use after you are done. Most of the phones run some apps on the background which drains the battery excessively. Try turning your phone off and removing the battery once a week to truly kill those apps.

All in all, if you try these tricks and tips you’ll find that your phone will last at least a day without needing to be recharged in the middle. The usual nightly recharging of smartphones is widely accepted and if you really need your phone to work more than this, you can always get an extra battery.
