Microsoft is expected to launch its smartphones based on Windows 10. The company has already booked an event on October 6. As the Bonanza event looms closer, more leaks and similar releases identifying with expected devices are being anticipated.
One of the upcoming entry level handset is the “Microsoft Lumia 550”. Lumia 550 is expected to come in four catchy colors i.e. black, white, blue and purple. According to the leaks, the upcoming Microsoft smartphone is not very different from the previously released Microsoft Smartphone flagships. Lumia 550 said to be the successor of Lumia 540.
Microsoft Lumia is rumored to come in a compact 4.7-inches AMOLED touchscreen display with 720×1280p resolution. The handset is expected to be driven by a Quad-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon210 SoC processor with 1.1 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU.
The interesting element is the Cat.4 LTE connectivity support on the entry- level device which boosts the download speed up to 150 Mbps and 50 Mbps transfers.
The speculated camera specs include a 5MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front facing selfie camera with LED flash. Lumia 550 will most probably have an internal 8 GB storage and a battery backing of 1905 mAh.
Microsoft Lumia 550 is expected to cost around $120 but even with this aggressive pricing strategy the upcoming device will have to face a strong competition. The specifications and database listing screenshots were first revealed by the German site winfuture.de and were corroborated later by Windows Central who dug out some additional details including metal finish, SD slot and on-screen key.
Along with Lumia 550 Microsoft is also planning to unveil its high-end Lumia 950 and 950 XL pair. Microsoft is also planning to launch its Band 2 wearable and Surface Pro tablet in the same event.
