Start comparing Galaxy S7 Edge Deals below:
Design and Dimensions
The phone body is primarily made from aluminium, which makes it both strong and light. It also adds to the fact it is dust proof, water proof and water resistant. Its dimensions are 150.90mm x 72.60mm x 7.70mm. It weighs 157 grams, which is average for a smartphone, but is still a very lightweight to the point where no reasonable person will call it uncomfortable to hold. The phone is 9.4% thinner than the average smartphone.
The Phone Display
The screen resolution is 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and the display technology is called super AMOLED. The display colours are 24-bit (16M Colours) and the screen is made from the very strong and scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 5.0. It has an ambient light sensor, multi touch and a proximity Sensor. At 5.5 inches the screen is a little bigger than the average smartphone screen, but not in a noticeable way. The screen is also 534 PPI, which makes it 1.8 times sharper than phones released in 2015.
The Galaxy S7 Edge has a front facing camera and a rear-facing camera and there’s an LED flash and auto focus. It has a burst mode, digital image stabilization, digital zoom, face detection and geo-tagging. It you want to take videos, then it has HDR capture and optical image stabilization. The camera also has a panorama and touch focus.
The rear camera is a 12-mega pixel camera, which means there is a reasonable chance you may be able to take good quality photos. The video camera can capture 4K video, and the lens aperture is f/1.7, which is larger than the average smartphone.
The Galaxy S7 Edge has a battery that is 3600 mAh. It was only at the beginning of last year that people thought a 3000 mAh battery was massive. As of February 2016, a battery that is 3600 mAh is as big as you are going to get on the commercial market. It is a lithium Ion battery, and its comparably massive size is the main reason why this Samsung is a little heavier than the average phone. The average smartphone battery size in 2015 was 2447 mAh.
The Processor and RAM
The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the Samsung Exynos 8 Octa 8890 and the GPU is the ARM Mali-T880MP12. An octa core means that the phone has eight core processors, which is far more than most smartphones. It also has 4GB of RAM, which is again more RAM than most smartphones have. The processors run at 2.3 GHz, which is once again much more (faster) than the average smartphone.
Having eight cores means that there are certain apps and programs that this Samsung smartphone may be able to process faster than other smartphones that do not have eight cores. The higher processing speed of 2.3 GHz means the phone can operate and process software a little faster than phones with slower processors, irrespective of if the software was built for an eight-core device. The high amount of RAM means that the Galaxy S7 Edge can handle both heavy memory use apps, and that the phone is far less likely to free, slow or stall if numerous poor quality apps are running at one time.
The Galaxy S7 Edge has options of 32GB and 64GB when it comes to hard drive space (internal storage). Many other phones have additional options for more storage space, so it is found wanting when compared to other smartphones in the price range. The other options you have if 64GB is not enough, is to use cloud storage, or you may expand the memory of your phone with a MicroSD card that may hold an additional 200GB.
The phone also has GPS and a digital compass, which are two things that have become fairly common these days. It also has an accelerometer and barometer. It has a heart rate monitor, gyroscope and it has fingerprint ID.
