The latest reports suggest that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5c will be priced as low as CNY 999. According to the current exchange rates, this amount will be equivalent to nearly $144. Given that the latest rumored Xiaomi device will be added to the Mi 5 line, the price tag is quite reasonable.
As is evident from the suggested price, Mi 5c will be a watered down version of the Mi 5s. A leaked spec sheet in China is being attributed to the Xiaomi Mi5c.
The reports hint that the Mi 5c will land with a 5.5-inch touchscreen with narrow bezels. Under the hood, the device will be powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor and will come with 3GB RAM. Some leaks suggest that the CPU will feature Cortex-A53 cores and might be driven by cores manufactured by Xiaomi itself. However, these rumors have not been confirmed by any other sources. 64GB of on-board storage and NFC support are the other rumored features of the Mi 5c.
For the camera specs, a 12 MP primary unit and an 8 MP secondary lens have been reported. The new Mi 5c will likely be driven by Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on the top.
The leaked renders depict a fingerprint sensor on the front while the screen is topped with 2.5D glass. Xiaomi will launch the handset at an exclusive event on November 30. On the same day, Meizu will make the new Flyme OS 6 official. Meizu might also launch the X smartphone alongside the new OS. The two competitors will go head to head next Wednesday.
