LG G4 Receives Android Marshmallow Upgrade

The electronic major LG’s Smartphone flagships are among the few handsets apart from Google’s Android 1 and Nexus to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, which is the latest version of the Google’s Operating System.

It is worth mentioning that LG has not yet rolled out Android 5.1.1 which is the most recent and upgraded version of Android Lollipop for any of its devices including LG G3 and G4. However, the brand is among the first few OEMs to seed out Android 6.0 to a chosen few flagships in its portfolio.

As per a blog post, Motorola also enlisted few of its flagships to receive the Android Marshmallow OS update soon. These devices include Moto G(Gen 2), Moto G(Gen 2) LTE, Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X(Gen 2), Moto G(3rd Gen), Moto Turbo, Moto X Play, Moto Maxx, Droid Turbo, Moto X pure Edition(3rd Gen), Google Nexus 6 and Moto X Style. However Motorola has not yet revealed the release date.

Recently, HTC has also listed its devices which are likely to receive the Android Marshmallow software update by the end of this year. The list constituted HTC Desire 820, HTC Desire 816, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 and HTC One M9.

In this interim, the South Korean electronics giant Samsung is preparing to receive an update for the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 and also for S6+.

The up gradation will definitely bring some substantial changes. Some of the adjustments include finger print scanner, Doze feature, the Google Now on Tap functionality and most importantly USB Type-C connectivity.
