An Upcoming Contender in the Mobile Phone Market?

Most consumers are aware of mobile phone providers such as Apple and Samsung. However, there are some other companies which are beginning to make a lasting impression within this market; particularly in terms of budget phones for the average individual. One such firm is Karbonn. While not able to capture as much of a market share as the larger conglomerates, Karbonn is nonetheless a force to be reckoned with. An example of such innovative technology can be seen in one of their latest smartphone models.

Karbonn Machone Titanium S310

A Budget Smartphone with a Kick

The Machone Titanium S310 is seen as offering most of the mainstream amenities that users have come to expect but at only a fraction of the price of its nearest competitors. While not boasting a famous logo, the S310 is nonetheless a worthwhile option to consider for anyone who may find themselves on a limited budget. It is offered exclusively via Snapdeal.

Its 4.7-inch LCD display is arguably quite similar to leading smartphones while a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor (manufactured by MediaTek) provides ample speeds. Furthermore, one gigabyte of RAM will enable users to download and access most applications with few problems. Note that the addition of a MicroSD card allows up to 32 gigabytes to be available. Finally, a front-facing camera provides a respectable five megapixels of definition and a rear variant offers a full eight megapixels.

It currently hosts the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system although it is rumoured that this can be upgraded to 5.0 Lollipop sometime in the future. Therefore, the S310 will appear quite familiar to those who have owned advanced smartphones in the past.

“No Frills”?

One of the questions that many consumers are likely to have is as to whether or not the S310 is best suited for watching movies or playing games. Although this phone may not have the high-definition capacity or processing power of the more well-known brands, it is still able to handle most videos and gaming apps. However, we should note that it will obviously not boast the amenities of more expensive models such as the Samsung Galaxy or the latest iPhone.

What is perhaps most notable is that for an agreeable price tag, the S310 shares many of the same physical characteristics as high-end variants. Slim and lightweight, it is quite easy to handle and its 4.7-inch display provides a pleasing visual experience. It comes in a variety of colours and an overall streamlined appearance will certainly appeal to the consumer.

Expanding Markets

One of the reasons why many customers have not yet heard of Karbonn arises from the fact that currently, their market is primarily within the Indian subcontinent. Furthermore, most phones are priced in rupees as opposed to dollars, euros or pounds. However, some feel that this budget smartphone signals a slight shift in terms of marketing. As other phones may be too expensive, models which offer similar qualities and are yet priced significantly cheaper could become more common.

This is not the first smartphone offered by Karbonn; the Sparkle V made its debut in September of 2014 and is currently available within the United Kingdom. While still rather anonymous in nature to some western consumers, many are predicting that Karbonn will make a lasting impression in the budget smartphone market.
