The Samsung users were surprised to see a flip smartphone, filed under the model number SM-W2016, appear on TENNA in late 2015. Now, Gionee seems to be channeling the same course with its latest Android powered flip smartphone dubbed W909.
The company has officially announced its latest flip phone which will be driven by Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company’s Amigo UI running on the top.
Gionee W909 will feature two screen of 4.2 inches each. Both the displays will be IPS LCDs featuring a screen resolution of 720p. Under the hood, the handset will be powered by an octa-core Helio P10 chipset of Mediatek. The innards of the device will include 4GB of RAM and 64 GM of onboard internal storage. The internal storage has been made expandable via a microSD slot.
Gionee W909 will flaunt a 16MP primary lens while a 5MP front camera will serve the selfie-lovers. The revealed phone dimensions are 124.1 x 62.8 x 16.5mm while the device weight is 207.7 g.
Gionee W909 will be powered by a 2530 mAh battery. The device will feature USB Type C connectivity option. Surprisingly, the company has also included the fingerprint scanner option in the handset. The biometric scanner will be mounted just below the camera.
In order to ensure that the users do not regard Gionee W909 just another handset on the shelf, the company has included exclusive faux leather back for this handset. Gionee W909 has been priced at CNY 4000.
Gionee W909 has a few distinct advantages over Samsung W909 like the enhanced RAM, fingerprint scanner and larger display.
