Leaked Picture Of Xiaomi Mi 5 Reveals A Fingerprint Scanner

A Chinese Micro blogging site has revealed a teaser image which is being attributed to Xiaomi Mi 5. The leak though didn’t reveal anything significant as it is features a large 5 followed by the words “Are you ready?”, it did suggest the possibility of the presence of a fingerprint scanner as there is a faint fingerprint on the lower part of the image. The news of fingerprint scanner though is not a big surprise as it has already been incorporated by other manufacturers in devices like Huawei Mate S and OnePlus 2.

The Mi 5, as the leaks suggest, will support a 5.3-inches QHD display with a 1440×2560p resolution and will be equipped with 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection. The handset is said to be driven by Snapdragon 820 chipset but the recent leaks also suggest the option of Snapdragon 810 processor.

The Mi 5 is rumored to feature a 16 megapixels rear camera with dual LED flash and a 13 megapixels front facing camera, particularly for video recordings and selfies. The set will boot on Android Lollipop 5.1 with its very own MIUI version on top.

Other leak includes 4 GB of RAM with storage variants of 16 GB and 64 GB and will reportedly support expandable storage too. Mi 5 is said to be powered by 3030 mAh battery. The expected cost is around $386.

Preliminary leaks had suggested a different list of specs for the Mi 5 with a 5.5-inch display, 3000 mAh battery and an 8 MP front camera.

Some sources also reported a July launch time-frame for Mi 5. In addition, On Tuesday, Xiaomi also announced that it has started manufacturing devices in Brazil, for local sale with aim of beating the rival companies in price market, as its first big step for the world’s most amazing technology startup.
