Motorola Starts Seeding Marshmallow Update To Moto X (2014)

Back in October, Motorola had acknowledged a list consisting of six Smartphones that would receive the Android Marshmallow update. The company has kept the promise and has started seeding the current Android version in Brazil and India. Moto X Style is the first amongst the bunch to get the upgrade.

The company declared the roll out of the current updates through a post in a Google+ Post. The Marshmallow update is being ascended for Third-Generation Moto X Style (2015) in both the countries, however only the Second-Generation Moto X Style (2014) in Brazil will be updated for now.

The post by Schuster also indicates that Motorola has initiated approval formalities for Moto X Pure Edition and will be rolling out the updates in the coming few weeks.

In addition, the post also discloses some other information regarding what Android Marshmallow update could possibly do to the Smartphones. The current Android update has made certain transitions and advancements to its earlier versions. The memory manager allows users to do memory management for all apps. In addition, enhancement in volume controls, various changes to the UI, Google Now and DND button are also included. Battery is handled with Doze which ensures battery saving and App standby curtails battery drain.

Motorola handsets will gradually receive the upgrades. In addition to Moto X style, other handsets queued to receive an Android Marshmallow update include Nexus 6, Moto G(second-Generation), Moto G (Third-Generation), Moto X Play and Moto Turbo.
