Report Says Microsoft Lumia 650 Will Be Made Official Early Next Month

Some official news about the release date of Microsoft’s unheralded Lumia 650 has finally surfaced. The device will be formally launched in early February. The news report also suggests that the Lumia 750 and Lumia 850 have been withdrawn. The report suggests that in 2016, Microsoft will not be adding an awful lot to their smartphone portfolio. According to some sources Microsoft could release only one Smartphone in 2016.

As far as pricing is concerned, Lumia 650 will set back its users by $220.

In terms of specifications, Lumia 650 is rumored to feature HD 5-inches Corning Gorilla Glass protected display with 1280×720p screen resolution. The device is driven by quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.1GHz by Qualcomm and runs Windows 10.

For storage, Lumia 650 packs in 1GB of RAM along with 8GB internal storage that can conveniently be extended with microSD card. The handset also offers dual SIM support and flaunts 3.5mm audio jack, Front-siding speakers and FM radio.

The handset also features an auto-focus 8MP primary shooter with LED flash support and a 5MP front-facing camera designed specifically for selfies.

Lumia 650 also embraces a 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, GPS/AGPS, WIFI 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1 LE. The smartphone is powered by 2000mAh battery backup with wireless charging capability.

It is being rumoured that Microsoft will not be organizing a formal launch event to release the device. Instead, it would be a soft launch in which Microsoft will simply announce the release of Lumia 650 on its website.
