According to the Samsung’s executive VP of memory sales and marketing,

By initiating mass production of 12 GB LPDDR4 mobile DRAM in an extremely timely manner, we now are not helping OEM’s to accelerate their moves to the next generation of mobile devices, but also providing functionality that will give mobile consumers greatly enhanced user experiences.

The configuration is said to drive components with 30% more fastness. Added benefits include up to 20% less energy conversion and the chip is said to raise the manufacturing capability of LPDDR4 by 50%. Samsung also expects enormous difference in the functionality as well and has stated that the use of 6 GB of RAM in smartphone will ensure optimized performance and seamless multitasking experience for the users.
