The Apple Watch was developed by Apple, Inc. as a Fitness and health tracking device which was compatible with other Apple devices including iPhone 5 and iOS 8.2 running devices. The watch comes in three categories; Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch Edition and Apple Watch.

The Watch was released back in April, 2015 and it came in two sizes; 38 mm (1.5 in) and 42 mm (1.7 in). The watch has a side button used to display contacts or Apply Pay. It has two touch modes, the Sensitive touch and hard touch. Digital crown enables zooming in and out. The watch comes with Inductive charging using a cable similar to MacBook’s laptops.

Apple watch runs on WatchOS software, which consists of a home screen with circular icons of apps. It must be paired with either iPhone5 or devices running iOS 8.2 or later. Now Apple is going to launch an upgrade to Apple Watch, the WatchOS 2, with an updated operating system. Apple Watch OS 1.0.1 fixed some bugs related to sensors and expanded the number of supported languages. Now a full upgrade is expected this fall in WatchOS 2.

The users of this Watch have often mistakenly referred it to as “My Phone”. However the notion is rational because the Watch lets you receive and make calls, read emails and summon Siri. It’s a corresponding mini version of iPhone.

Apple is expecting to improve the sales of their Apple Watch with the upcoming upgrade which aims at fixing previous errors and providing an enhanced experience to its users. In any case, the Watch might be a sneak peek into the future of mobile and cell phone technology.
